Finca Bellavista is not a traditional hotel/resort, but an off-grid rainforest destination. Guests should have an adventurous spirit and be in good physical condition to best enjoy their home. Each rental is privately owned, therefore amenities, occupancies, hiking distances to/from base camp, and overall design vary greatly from house to house.

Casa Tamandua

Owned by two tropical biologists, this house is a birder’s and nature lover’s paradise. Watch toucans, monkeys, and coatis from the comfort of our hammocks and yoga mats on two spacious decks, or enjoy ancient primary rainforest along paths just a few minutes from the house.


This modern remote 3-level cabina features a sleeping loft with full-sized bed over the main living area and dining area, a bedroom with full-sized futon, 2 bathrooms, 2 balconies, and incredible views and sunsets of the Osa Peninsula. This cabina has solar electricity and refrigeration. Please consider that this treehouse is a 25-30 minute hike from base camp in your planning. The access trails at Finca Bellavista are gravel and rock, very inclined and rustic


Casa de Leon


This remote 3-level treehouse features a sleeping loft with full-sized bed over the main living area (and full-sized futon) and dining area, a bedroom with queen bed and full-sized futon,2 bathrooms, 2 balconies, and great views of the Rio Piedras Blancas corridor. This treehouse does not have electricity or refrigeration. Please consider that this treehouse is a 40-45 minute hike from base camp in your planning. The access trails at Finca Bellavista are gravel and rock, very inclined and rustic


La Torreluna

A cozy treehouse at the community base camp of Finca Bellavista. This treehouse overlooks the Rio Bellavista and the community campfire area. Features include two balconies, an outdoor hot water shower, a queen-sized bed, and a sleeping loft (best suited for children). There is no electricity or kitchen in this treehouse. While this rental is at the base camp, the access trails at Finca Bellavista are gravel and rock, very inclined and rustic.


Accommodation Insight


The Finca Bellavista community ‘base camp’ enables access to a selection of customized activities, tours and services. Electronic bike tours, zipline tours, and yoga classes are all on offer, along with a community dining hall, rancho and a riverside spa cabin. A parking area, reception and WIFI zone is available to residents and guests in the community base camp.



Community meals are served from the Community Center, and a daily Happy Hour is on offer in the Community Rancho. Meal delivery, Finca Fresh bags of produce, and potable mountain spring water stations are other features of Finca Bellavista’s Food & Beverage Services.




A network of zip lines and platforms throughout Finca Bellavista allows for an adventurous view of life in the rainforest. Eighty percent of life in the tropical rainforest resides in the upper level of the canopy. Exploring this incredible realm of biodiversity is easy via harness and cable.




The community’s grounds are a peaceful and colorful Garden of Eden showcasing abundant flowers, fruits and vegetables. Farm fresh produce is available year-round. With a growing body of residents and visitors, this element is expanding into the creation of a very special and localized food culture. Finca Bellavista’s future goal is to have a 5-mile food ‘radius’, supporting and encouraging local farmers, while maintaining on-site food production.




Finca Bellavista is a pedestrian-accessed community. As such, your feet will get you most places that you want to go within the community. A system of scenic ground trails and routes access the community. Those with a hankering to wander about the jungle will find that Finca Bellavista’s trails are a great way to explore the terrestrial flora and fauna of the Costa Rica rainforest.




Daily Yoga classes are available in the Community Rancho and are included with your reservation. Spa services are available in a cabin perched overlooking the Rio Bellavista. Please inquire at reception for availability and a list of services.
