FUNDU LAGOON
Effortlessly chic, Fundu Lagoon is one of the most remote island resorts in the Indian Ocean, only accessible by boat. A small privately owned boutique resort, here you can enjoy barefoot luxury in a tropical Tanzanian setting, close to spectacular dive sites. The rustic 'Robinson Crusoe' charm of Fundu Lagoon blends perfectly with the surrounding forest and the coastline and guests soon find themselves living their own island adventure with rooms that feature ocean views.

A fully equipped dive centre means that guests can explore some of the world's leading dive sites whilst sea fishing is also available. Alternatively, relax in the infinity edge swimming pool and take in your tropical surroundings, indulge in a treatment at the spa or sip a drink at one of the three bars available for a rejuvenating stay.

Food

There’s something rather special about gazing out over the Indian Ocean while savouring freshly picked fruit and vegetables from the nearby villages or fish from the surrounding waters. Fundu Lagoon aims to source as much as possible locally. Throw in a refreshing sea breeze to the mix and it’s akin to being shipwrecked on a tropical island – in a totally civilised manner.

The cuisine is a fusion of Swahili and international, with a choice of dishes. Meals are served in the main restaurant and the pool bar on a daily basis, with light bites or a three-course lunch and dinner. Each week there is a beach BBQ, with a bonfire under the stars and food cooked to order, as well as a Swahili-themed dinner on the jetty with a buffet and convivial atmosphere.
