The Enchanted Faraway Tree - a unique treepod stay in Kent, UK

We were over the moon when we were invited to spend a night at the brand new addition to Kent Cottage Holidays, ‘The Enchanted Faraway Tree’ near Canterbury, Kent. The name alone had us hooked from the start and with no idea what to expect, other than a couple of development photos, so we were itching to get over there and explore. The instructions were simple and from the minute we arrived we felt completely relaxed and at home. Each property has its own entrance, which is accessed with a code that is sent to you before arrival so even if you have a late arrival it is really easy to get in and settled.

The Enchanted faraway tree is the newest property in this collection of unique mini retreats and the creativity that goes into each of these places is absolutely unbelievable. The entrance to the property opens out into a magical small cobbled pathway that leads you into your own private garden that winds around your tree pod and living area. The garden even has a treehouse lookout up in the trees above with a beautiful swinging bench hidden underneath. There is a seating area on the grass with cute rabbits, owls and tortoises watching over you and a fire pit complete with a bag of toasting marshmallows and toadstool seats for the evenings.

The outside area also had our favourite feature, a hand made wood fire hot-tub, absolutely perfect for couples to relax and enjoy the complimentary bubbly! There is an outside shower with robes and towels and a beautifully decorated little toilet with all the top end essentials. The hot tub was easy to fill and get going and really does pack out some heat, it was lovely under the stars that evening and so peaceful and quiet.

The indoor area was just stunning, with huge open windows looking out into the garden and hot tub area, you really feel like you are tucked away in a deep forest somewhere. Inside is so creative with little touches like fire hydrant lights to a gorgeous tree trunk sink winding up into the roof, we loved the colourful fabric chairs that sit and face out across the garden. The living area also has a dining table area, window seats scattered with comfy cushions, a Bose Bluetooth speaker, kitchen area with all the best essentials and a gorgeous little stove as well as storage areas and a handy hamper full of delicious goodies!

Leading off the living space lays a hidden spiral staircase that leads up to your enchanted treepod. This area really is magical, the treepod has a completely glass covered domed roof so you can literally watch the stars between the treetops in your mini tree house before you sleep. The circular bed was covered in luxurious bedding, blankets and decorative cushions themed to the pod. The walls are covered in a forest themed background, so you really do feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere and completely connected with nature.

We are so in love with this place and cannot recommend it enough, the owners have thought of

absolutely everything and it really is the most unusual and interesting place to stay, there is nothing like this that we have ever come across. The retreat is adults only and perfect for couples especially if you are celebrating a special occasion. The property is wi-fi free so you are completely engrossed in the theme and each other, with no outside distractions. There is also a lovely little pub called the Royal Oak just a few minutes walk away if an evening meal or beer garden drink takes your fancy, they have a great service and a really welcoming team behind the bar. There is no doubt we will be back again, if not to the enchanted faraway tree then to one of the other magical treats Kent Cottage holidays have created, every one as magical as the last and we cannot wait to see what comes next….
