THE ROCKHOUSE RETREAT

This wonderfully romantic retreat is a one-off hand-sculptured cave house carved from a Triassic sandstone escarpment on the banks of Honey Brook near Bewdley and the Wyre Forest. Hidden amidst the outstanding natural beauty of three acres of private woodland, evidence shows that it has been occupied for over 750 years until it was vacated in 1962, and laid empty until this incredible restoration in 2015.

As much a sculpture as a cave house, The Rockhouse features stylish modern day creature comforts such as under floor heating in the bathroom, and clever hidden lighting for a nurturing and natural ambiance throughout. Great for

celebrating special occasions or a rejuvenating wellness weekend away, it has

a generous bedroom with king sized bed and wood burning stove, a snug sitting room with fireplace, fully fitted kitchen with an electric range, three ovens, an induction hob and ample terrace for dining, either cooking on the gas BBQ or alfresco dining around the fire pit.

The Rockhouse Retreat is Britain's first 21st century cave house retreat and has been featured on Channel 4's ‘Grand Designs’ presented by Kevin McCleod

and Channel 5's ‘The Saturday Show’ with Sarah Beenie.

The inspiring restoration of this 800 year old hand sculpted wonder created a wave of national and international media coverage.

The thought provoking restoration involved hundreds of man hours and the excavation of over seventy tonnes of rock, resulting in a unique romantic retreat set in acres of secluded Worcestershire countryside, a perfect place to retreat from the modern world.
