The Woodsman's Treehouse is a totally private and unique experience set high up in the branches of a veteran oak. The ultimate retreat. A stylish combination of sustainable craftsmanship and luxurious interiors with a playful touch; highlights include your own sauna and hot tub on the upper deck, a revolving woodburner, an open air tree-shower and a stainless steel slide.
The Woodsman's Treehouse's grand pier-like boardwalk extends into your own private kingdom: a king-sized bed, a double-ended copper bath and the rotating fireplace that can be pointed toward the bed, sofa or kitchen. A particularly notable feature is a window in the floor, looking down to the stream below. The thick insulating walls feature picture windows that offer woodland views, and there is ceiling window above the bed that looks up at the impressive oak canopy above. We have not overlooked any of the practicalities either; the treehouse has a proper indoor flushing loo and an entrance lobby for coats and muddy boots.

Outside on the huge rear deck there is a wood fired pizza oven and barbeque, as well as one of our now famous outdoor tree showers - supplied with endless piping hot water. It's ideal in the rain or snow as well as on any other day.
From this level there is a spiral staircase up to the roof/spa deck, where you'll find a hot tub and a sauna in complete privacy. It's rather special to be relaxing up amongst the branches, looking through the woods towards the sunset.

As well as all the outdoor pleasures, the Treehouse's kitchen makes it fully self-contained. It really is a luxury getaway all year round.

Crafty Camping Courses Available

Two hour 'Have a go Course'
We offer a short 'Have a Go' course, so that anyone can do just that - have a go at making a spatula using green woodworking methods. Suitable for absolute novices and designed to be fun, satisfying and informative.

Spoon carving Courses - 1 or 2 Day
These courses are an excellent, relaxing opportunity to get away from it all and do something different for a day, in the peace and tranquillity of our Woodland Workshop.
Learn the basics of the very satisfying craft of spoon carving using green (unseasoned) wood. You will learn various 'grasps' and carving techniques using very high quality handmade crook knifes and a small hatchet/axe.

Green Woodworking
During this course you are introduced to all aspects of a complete 'tree-to-product' process - from selecting and cleaving green wood ready for turning, to making a variety of small items for the kitchen and garden: spatulas, candlesticks, rolling pins, dibbers, string-lines and similar. You are shown how to use pole lathes and shaving horses, along with green woodworking hand tools such as the froe, drawknife and spokeshave.

GLAMPING
They also provide a high quality, adult-only luxury glamping experience for guests. Perfect for anyone looking for a unique, peaceful break in a hand-crafted environment set in uncrowded, quiet private woodland.
All accommodation features king-sized beds provided with linen, towels etc, to ensure an unforgettable - and comfortable - night's sleep. Each tent has its own private clearing or deck, ensuring privacy and seclusion.
